A movie as complex and tied in to other films as Spiderman: No Way Home will of necessity explore many variations as actor availability, cinematic universe through-line implications and other considerations impact the story. A very early version of the script involved a plot by Mysterio (not quite dead) to discredit Spidey as a violent maniac and paint himself as the hero and victim. With the help of J. Jonah Jameson he lures Peter into a public confrontation at a high school football game where the carefully staged moment is sure to be splashed across social media, as well as on JJ's blog, of course. Work done under the direction of my good friend Ryan Meinerding.
