Tron: Ares (2024) - Crashed Recognizer

My take on this climactic moment, as Eve tries to escape the relentless behemoth of the Dillinger APC (in this piece an early design by Fausto DiMartini) that has emerged from the downed Recognizer. This was a complex shot to stage as it needed to represent the actual Vancouver shooting location. As it happens there are very few areas around the real location of the fictional Encom Tower that can accommodate the sheer scale of the Recognizer, so a lot of time was spent staging the craft and cameras in an art department-provided block model of the city. In honor of both Vancouver and Tron: Legacy I chose to stage the shot in the rain, which gives it a suitably moody feel. Several of my colleagues also tackled this moment, including Joshua Viers and Fernando Acosta. Check out their versions on their Instagram pages.
