WandaVision (2019) - Rover Climbing the Hex Keyframe

I was only on WandaVision relatively briefly, but I did get to have some fun with the Rover scene from episode 7. Vis Dev supervisor Andy Park had me do a keyframe of the moment where the Rover tries to penetrate the Hex shield and ends up scaling the face of it before sinking through. The Art Department's design hadn't been developed yet, so I had to come up with my own design for the shot, starting from the basic layout suggested by the storyboards. Contemporary rover design being what it is, the art department and I both ended up in some similar places, particularly when it comes to the cockpit area, though the final design I think is more realistic and less fantastical than this one.

Looking forward to sharing some of my rough design sketches once the Art of WandaVision book is released.

Modo block model render. This is as far as I'll take something like this in 3D before finishing it in Photoshop.

I worked out some articulation on my design to figure out how the rover could both penetrate the Hex with its nose and still end up engaging the front wheels to scale up the force shield.

Early sketches to work out a design for the keyframe. The final design from the art department ended up far simpler, without the need for articulation, and was more of a flatbed rather than a mobile lab.
