Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - Wetland Planet Pirate Base Concept.

In an earlier version of the Star Wars episode 9 outline, the planet that would later become Pasaana was conceived of as having an Everglades-like ecosystem, with shallow islands spotted around a reedy, marshy wetland. This would have been the original site of the festival ultimately staged in the desert, as well as the home of the unsavory pirates from Poe Dameron's secret past. An Endor speederbike-inspired chase would have taken place there, skipping over sandbanks and water and tearing through fields of reeds and thatched indigenous buildings. Myself and legendary designers Eric Tiemens and Ryan Church worked on this environment for quite awhile before it was ultimately abandoned.
