Avengers - Early Helicarrier designs (2010)

A few of my designs for the Helicarrier from Avengers. While my good friend Nathan Schroeder and Production Designer James Chinlund were developing the version that ultimately made the screen, I was pursuing an alternate take that was more aviation driven. At first this was inspired by heavy lifters like the Globemaster and Antonov cargo planes, but James also had me pursue a more stealth & space shuttle-influenced direction as well. Ultimately we ended up with the far more dramatic design that we were meant to have, but this is a great window into the breadth of directions we explore in the pursuit of the perfect design.
