As with the Sirens, Zeus's character was originally envisioned to be much more robotic in appearance, with a very molded plasticky body and hair like braided cables. This is just one of many variations, but my favorite idea. Zeus was meant to have a drawer full of interchangeable faces that he could swap out, making the metaphor of him being "two faced" a reality. I love it when design can reinforce character and storytelling. This is the one character I got to design from scratch, under the direction of Costume Designer Michael Wilkinson. Unfortunately budget decisions prevented it from being realized quite like this.
