The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2023) - Baxter Building concept

Another very early development piece done for Marvel Visual Development chief Ryan Meinerding. In this case, an idea for the Baxter building. I was trying to incorporate the 4 logo in an iconic way motivated by function, so created the idea of the diagonal spar of the tower being a superconducting launch ramp for the Excelsior. The "4" beacon at the top would retract down at launch to form the final extension of the ramp. I also liked the idea of the building being an immense retro-fit to the original art-deco building you can see at the base of the vertical spar.

The keyframe also features a very early concept of the Fantasticar I developed before it became clear that it would not be a modular vehicle that splits into multiples. More on that design in another post!
